When asked for her thoughts, Tanya Boey (Senior Speech & Drama Specialist) said, “Lucas is an attentive and diligent student. Always cheerful and positive and he is never afraid to take on new challenges. Most of all, I had fun teaching him.”

Helen O’Grady Academy (Malta) principal Alan Montanaro and academy manager Emma Loftus recently returned from Manchester, the UK, where they participated in intensive training workshops to launch the new curriculum for the coming term.

The workshops were attended by almost 100 other teachers and principals from around the world.

_During the visit, the Malta academy was singled out for praise for going that extra mile when it comes to fulfilling the Helen O’Grady ethos.

“Alan Montanaro and his team of teachers always go the extra mile to provide students with exceptional opportunities to improve their confidence, self-esteem, language and communication skills,” said Nigel Le Page, international director of the academy.

“Training at the Helen O’Grady Academy is an ongoing commitment,” explained Montanaro, “The Academy insists that all its teachers are fully accredited and kept up to date with new teaching techniques to ensure that students get the very best out of the multi-award-winning programme.

The Helen O’Grady Academy offers classes for children as young as three.

In 2010, Principals of Helen O'Grady around the United Kingdom contacted people in their areas and have received nothing but support for their business. Here are a selection of messages they have received.

"To all the pupils and staff at the Academy,I have recently received a letter from Claire Hollis [South Manchester] who told me about the Academy.

It is always good to hear about clubs and groups and it never ceases to amaze me the enthusiasm and dedication everyone gives ............ most importantly giving their time.

Drama is a great way of expressing oneself and can have so many positive impacts on people's lives.

May I take this opportunity of wishing everyone connected with the Academy the best of luck in the future and, on a personal note, thank you all for your support of our club.

"Miss Hurley would be delighted to lend support to development through drama and has asked me to forward the following quote:

'There is not a chance in the world that I would be where I am today had it not been for after school drama classes. They are brilliant for kids, regardless of whether they want to enter the acting profession.'

We hope your Drama Academy continues to thrive and help lots more children."
